Ontario Cup 2019 has come to a close with the final six division winners decided

The 104th edition of the Ontario Cup has come to a close as the final six divisions wrapped up over the weekend at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan.

There was still one Toyota National Championship berth to be spoken for and five more Ontario Cup titles have now been decided.

The Ontario Cup is the largest club competition of its kind in Canada with over 12,000 athletes and 600 teams annually.

2020 Ontario Soccer Summit ticket sale launch is fast approaching

The city of Hamilton will play host to the 2020 Ontario Soccer Summit at Redeemer University College.

The 2019 installment of the Ontario Soccer Summit in London was a historic event. Ontario Soccer with the Hamilton and District Soccer Association are set to deliver an event even better than the last with a roster of amazing speakers including headliners FIFA vice president and CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani.

Female Leadership Day speaker joins Canadian Soccer Business and League1 Ontario

It was announced last week that Carmelina Moscato would be joining Canadian Soccer Business as the Manager of Women’s Professional Development. As well, Moscato was named Commissioner of League1 Ontario Women’s Division.

Moscato will be one of the lead speakers at this weekend’s Female Leadership Day, which is being hosted in Ottawa on Sept. 22 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Two Ontario teams kickoff Masters Club Championships today

The Masters Regional Club Championships will kick off this week as Ontario’s representatives will face off against other provinces in the Over-35 competition.

This year, Ontario will be represented by two teams from the same club. Scarborough GS United won both the Men’s and Women’s Ontario Masters Championships and have qualified for the national competition.

The League1 Ontario Men’s Final match-up will be decided this weekend as the semi-finals wrap up.

FC London looks certain to advance after jumping out to a 5-0 lead over Alliance United. There is still all to play for in the Oakville Blue Devils and Master’s Futbol semi as they played to a scoreless draw in the first leg.

TFC look to make it four in a row at Canadian Championship final

Ontario’s seven-time Championship winners Toronto FC try to make it four in a row against Montreal Impact as they kick off Canada Soccer’s 2019 Canadian Championship Final, presented by Allstate.

The opening leg kicks off tonight at 7:30 pm on OneSoccer.ca from Stade Saputo in Montreal, Quebec.

The expanded 2019 Canadian Championship will culminate with the Voyageurs Cup trophy being raised with the completion of the second leg hosted at BMO Field in Toronto on September 25 at 7:30 pm.

Update on the Canada Soccer Club Licensing program

Ontario Soccer received an overwhelming response from clubs and academies to enter the Canada Soccer Club Licensing Program in 2019. The final review will continue until Sept. 30, at which time the announcement of successful organizations will be made.

The new window of application to “Provincial Level 2,” “Provincial Level 1” and Quality Soccer Provider for the 2020 cycle will open on Sept. 15.

Register your team for this year’s Provincial Indoor Soccer League

The Provincial Indoor Soccer League (PISL) is one of the most competitive and prestigious indoor soccer leagues in the province.

The PISL offers 11-a-side indoor soccer for U13 to U18 divisions for both girls and boys at clubs and academies. The main hub of the league is the Ontario Soccer Centre but games will also be played at three other facilities across Southern Ontario, giving the league a wide area to draw top-level competition from.

Five Ontario teams qualify for the Toyota National Championships

The Ontario Cup Finals came to a conclusion for six divisions on Sept. 7 and 8 at Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan.

The winners of five of those divisions will now move on as Ontario’s representative at the Toyota National Championships.

With over 600 teams and 12,000 athletes, the Soccer For Life Provincial Championship is the largest competition of its kind in Canada.

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce its, Board of Directors approved, new Strategic Plan for 2019-2021, which will serve as a road map for soccer in the province over the next three years.

The Strategic Plan will focus on four key areas of the sport and within those areas, each have three Strategic Initiatives where Ontario Soccer will look at tackling opportunities on and off the field.
