COVID-19 Liability Protection Legislation receives Royal Assent |

The Government of Ontario has announced that the Supporting Ontario’s Recovery Act 2020 has now received Royal Assent.
This Act, which is now law, will provide liability protection for workers, volunteers and organizations that make an honest effort to follow public health guidelines and laws relating to exposure to COVID-19.
This topic has been a top priority among amateur sport organizations in Ontario. Ontario Soccer has been actively advocating for months, in front of various key decision making bodies, to protect all levels of amateur sport who are following Return to Play Safety protocols during the global pandemic.

2020 Centre Circle Award winners announced |

Soccer leaders from all over the province were recognized at the 2020 Centre Circle Awards @ Home virtual event on Sunday.
This year’s Centre Circle Awards, presented by Nothers – The Awards Store, was conducted as an online virtual event in accordance with Public Health Orders and was a special evening to honour those who have made an outstanding contributions to the game in our province and country.
Clubs, Academies, Leagues, Coaches, Match Officials, Administrators and those who have dedicated a lifetime to the game, all had a moment to shine in the spotlight of the Centre Circle.

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce that the Community coaching workshops are still available online.
To ensure that the Community Coaching Workshops are more accessible and to allow greater flexibility on when these courses can be delivered, the coaches will be able to work at their own pace to complete the course material.
Online learning is now available for Active Start, Fundamentals, Learn to Train and Soccer For Life.

As Ontario’s Match Officials continue to prepare for the outdoor season with their online learning, Ontario Soccer is sharing another Match Official Panel Discussion from the Ontario Soccer Summit.
In this panel, the game and decision-making all come into play from different perspectives thanks to guests Scott Bowman (Canadian Premier League Match Official), Caroline Szwed (Sportsnet Host and Former Player) and Anthony Capotosto (Toronto FC Academy Director.)
