Ontario Provincial Government Announcement and Return to Play Survey |
Ontario’s Provincial Government has not yet set a date for the beginning of the province’s phased-in approach to de-escalating the State of Emergency in Ontario but there is now an opportunity to begin thinking about what a Return to Play might look like for soccer in our province.
Ontario Soccer has been invited to be part of an Ontario Provincial Government sport sub-committee to assist with the management and strategy of how amateur sport navigates through the COVID-19 pandemic.
The safety and health of our participants will be first and foremost in the decision making to come.
To better understand your concerns, Ontario Soccer has created a survey so you can provide us with your input on what Return to Play in Ontario may look like.

Update on Outdoor Player Registration and OSCAR SAAS fees |
 |
In the event that the 2020 Outdoor Season is cancelled, SportsEngine has agreed in good faith, given the challenging times, not to collect the SAAS fees application to 2020 outdoor season (OSCAR) registration.
As a result, Ontario Soccer will not collect both Outdoor Player Registration fees and OSCAR, powered by SportsEngine, SAAS fees if the 2020 Outdoor Season is cancelled in its entirety.
Ontario Soccer recommends and encourages Districts, Clubs and Academies to continue or commence registering their members into OSCAR in anticipation of the Return to Play directives, as well as to provide proper insurance coverage for members participating in online environments.

Rowan’s Law Mandatory Implementation |
 |
The Province of Ontario, at the present time, is the only province in Canada to enact Concussion Safety legislation throughout its sport system.
‘Rowan’s Law’ received Royal Assent on March 7, 2018, and Section 5 of the Act, proclaiming a ‘Rowan’s Law Day’ was the only section that came into effect at that time.
However, in 2019, the remaining parts of the Act and the regulation have now come into effect in phases.
