The second roster of Ontario Soccer Summit 2020 speakers have been announced

Ontario Soccer has announced that there are 12 new speakers joining the Ontario Soccer Summit 2020 and the announcement comes on the heels of the Early Bird Tickets selling out in record time.

With Regular Pricing now in effect, tickets will continue to move quickly as this next round of announcements is a cast of Canadian soccer’s most influential leaders.

The deadline to register for the Goalkeeping Coach Diploma is fast approaching

Ontario Soccer has announced the upcoming Goalkeeping Coach Diploma Course, which is being held at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan on Dec. 5 and 6, 2019.

The Goalkeeper Diploma Course is an in-person workshop, produced by Ontario Soccer, that combines theoretical and practical components on Goalkeeping Coaching.

Three new teams join League1 Ontario for 2020

League1 Ontario will welcome two new men’s teams and one new women’s team for the 2020 season – the seventh campaign in the evolution for the provincial pro-am league – significantly expanding options for elite male and female players in both Toronto and Hamilton.

North Toronto SC will add both a men’s and women’s side while Hamilton United completes the full suite of League1 offerings.

Canada Soccer Call for Nominations

The Nominations Committee of the Canada Soccer Board of Directors calls for nominations for the positions of President (for a four-year term), as well as Director (elected) and Director (independent) for three-year terms commencing after the Canada Soccer 2020 Annual Meeting of the Members.

The Committee is seeking qualified candidates to play a role in the stewardship of an organization that reflects values such as engagement, transparency, accountability and other attributes representing leading-edge governance.

Application details for 2020 Ontario Cup semi-final hosting

Ontario Soccer is now accepting bids from District Associations interested in hosting the Ontario Cup Semi-Finals in 2020.

The 2020 Ontario Cup Semi-Finals will be held on Aug. 29-20, 2020. The deadline for submitting a bid to host the Ontario Cup Semi-Finals is January 18, 2020.

Ontario Soccer announces 2020 Provincial Projects invites

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce the selections for the 2020 Provincial Projects.

The selected athletes, between 40-50 per age group and gender, were previously evaluated at the Provincial Screening Competition in October or throughout the year and will now be further screened as part of the Provincial Projects.

The screening sessions and the preparation weekends will take place at the Ontario Soccer Centre, before the final rosters selections for the Provincial Teams are announced in April.

Ontario Futsal Cup registration now open for all divisions

For the first time ever, the sport of futsal will be introduced in the 2020 Ontario Winter Games.

The 2020 Ontario Futsal Cup will be played in the Winter Games in the U-18 Boys and Girls divisions. Teams that enter the Ontario Futsal Cup in these divisions will be given an opportunity to qualify for the Final Round of the Ontario Futsal Cup, which will be held at the Ontario Winter Games.

Registration for the U-18 division, as well as other divisions, are now open for the Ontario Futsal Cup.

Ontario Soccer releases 2019-2021 Strategic Plan

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce its, Board of Directors approved new Strategic Plan for 2019-2021, which will serve as a road map for soccer in the province over the next three years.

The Strategic Plan will focus on four key areas of the sport and within those areas, each have three Strategic Initiatives where Ontario Soccer will look at tackling opportunities on and off the field.
