How you can watch the 6 Ontario Cup finals this weekend in Vaughan

The Ontario Cup Finals will come to a conclusion for six divisions on Sept. 7 and 8 at Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan.

What began as over 600 teams and 12,000 athletes is now down to a final two teams competing for the provincial Soccer for Life titles.

For the U-15, U-17, Men’s and Women’s divisions there is an extra incentive, as the winning squads will advance on to the Toyota National Championships.

14 Ontario players called to Canada squad for important September home and away matches

Canada Men’s National Team returns to Toronto to battle Cuba on Saturday, September 7 as the CONCACAF Nations League Group Phase kicks off at BMO Field (8 p.m. kick-off).

FC London take 2019 League1 Ontario championship after dramatic late goal

FC London grabbed destiny by the shoestring off a late strike in the box to win the 2019 League1 Ontario Women’s Championship final on Saturday night.

Destiny was fulfilled for the now three-time champions as captain Jade Kovacevic sped past her defender and slotted a left-footed finish into the corner for the 1-0 victory over the Oakville Blue Devils.

Statement from President regarding Ontario Registered Academies

To the Membership:

As the Private Academy (OASL) Pilot Project is coming to a successful conclusion in 2019, the Ontario Soccer Board of Directors, District Association Presidents and Ontario Registered Academies have formed a working group tasked to fully integrate Academies into the mainstream Ontario Soccer system.

This has been a vision for Ontario Soccer for some time. The working group will be made of up equal representation from the Districts and Academies along with select members of Ontario Soccer’s Board of Directors. As the working group progresses in its work, updates will be provided as appropriate.

Call for nominations for Canada Soccer board of directors

Canada Soccer is seeking to recruit one qualified candidate to serve as an independent member of the Nominations Committee of the Board of Directors.

The individual must be able to demonstrate that they have professional, personal or other contacts within corporate, business, soccer and other relevant communities that will strengthen the Canada Soccer Board as it performs its governance and stewardship functions.

Four new soccer organizations are joining OPDL in 2020

Ontario Soccer’s Player Development Program has announced that four new organizations have received licenses to join the Ontario Player Development League (OPDL) for 2020 and 2021.

After a comprehensive review process over the last eight months, the Board of Directors of Ontario Soccer recently approved the final list of applicant organizations.

Sigma FC, Rush Canada, Kingston United SC and FC Durham join the current 25 license holders made up of Clubs and Academies from around Ontario which support the advancement of athletes along the province’s Talented Pathway.

Register your team for this year’s Provincial Indoor Soccer League

The Provincial Indoor Soccer League (PISL) is one of the most competitive and prestigious indoor soccer leagues in the province.

The PISL offers 11-a-side indoor soccer for U13 to U18 divisions for both girls and boys at clubs and academies. The main hub of the league is the Ontario Soccer Centre but games will also be played at three other facilities across Southern Ontario, giving the league a wide area to draw top-level competition from.

Scarborough GS win consecutive Men’s Masters championship titles

Make it two in a row for Scarborough GS Masters – on the day and back to back years.

On the same day as the Scarborough GS Masters Women clinched their division title, the GS Men won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Anthony Deerr.

Scarborough GS United Women win first ever Masters Championship

The Women’s Masters was decided in a three-round robin battle for gold with the London Azzurri, Ottawa International and Scarborough GS United.

Scarborough GS United, who debuted in the tournament for the first time, snatched gold on Sunday without ever kicking a ball after the Azzurri beat Ottawa 2-1.

24 Ontario organizations selected for National Youth Club Licenses

Canada Soccer has announced the 39 clubs in Alberta, B.C. and Ontario who have been granted the Canada Soccer National Youth Club License.

24 of the organizations hailed from Ontario.

As the highest amateur youth club designation in the Canada Soccer Club Licensing Program, the National Youth Club License recognizes the highest achieving organizations from across Ontario.

Ontario Soccer releases 2019-2021 Strategic Plan

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce its, Board of Directors approved, new Strategic Plan for 2019-2021, which will serve as a road map for soccer in the province over the next three years.

The Strategic Plan will focus on four key areas of the sport and within those areas, each have three Strategic Initiatives where Ontario Soccer will look at tackling opportunities on and off the field.
