Ontario Soccer announces launch of new registration platform

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce the launch of its new registration platform, which will serve to connect soccer in the province like never before.

Ontario Soccer Club & Academy Registry (OSCAR), previously referred to as the Member Management Registration System, has been built in association with SportsEngine, the Official Technology Partner of Ontario Soccer and will now let Clubs and Academies connect their real-time participation registration data on a single platform.

First four 2019 Ontario Indoor Cup champions crowned

The Ontario Indoor Cup finals took place Sunday at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan.

The competition wrapped up for the U-14 Boys and Girls divisions this weekend and when the dust settled the first four champions of 2019 had been crowned.

Pro Stars, Ajax FC, Caledon SC and Canadian Futbol Club all won their respective divisions, in a weekend that saw some of the tournament’s best soccer for life action.

Futsal Canadian Championships dates and locations announced

The 2019 Futsal Canadian Championships will be held April 11-14 at Queen’s University in Kingston, ON and feature eight teams from seven Provincial and Territorial member associations.

2018 Futsal Canadian Championship winners, Ontario’s Toronto Idolo Futsal, will return to the competition, joining the Ontario provincial champions – or second place team should Idolo win the 2019 Ontario Futsal Cup.

Blind Soccer kicks-off next week at Ontario Parasport Games

Competitive Blind 5-a-side soccer makes a welcome return to Ontario next month as the Ontario Parasport Games are hosted across the region of Durham from Feb. 8-10.

5-a-side soccer is played by athletes with a visual impairment. The game is played on a smaller pitch than able-bodied soccer and the pitch is enclosed by boards.

Canada Soccer announces updated Coach Education Pathway

Canada Soccer has announced the dates for its expanded 2019 Coach Education License Program schedule.

As part of its focus on grassroots development, the program includes new age and stage-specific offerings, as well as plans for updated and expanded offering for coaches working in the top development environments across the country, including the professional club environment.

Respect in Sport mandatory requirements for 2019

Ontario Soccer are once again asking the Districts, Clubs and Academies to remind their members on the mandatory educational requirements, as part of an approved March 2016 Ontario Soccer Board of Directors rollout, of the RIS Activity Leader Program.

These information bulletins (I2016-031 – April 4, 2016, I2016-032 – April, 5, 2016, I2016-055 – Nov. 11, 2016, A2017-008 – March, 23, 2017 ) were sent alerting the Ontario Soccer community to these requirements.

Discipline and Appeals fees have been updated for 2019

To ensure objective, impartial review of Appeal cases, Ontario Soccer uses a third party, external counsel.

There has been a substantial increase in the volume of Appeal Cases incurred at the Provincial level.

Ontario Soccer has an obligation to the membership to ensure that the costs of the Discipline and Appeals process are covered.

Accordingly, Ontario Soccer has made several key changes to various fees associated with the Discipline and Appeals process. These changes are effective immediately and apply to all new cases with Ontario Soccer.

Next C-License course for 2019 announced

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce the date and location of an upcoming C-License Coaching Course.

The course will be held in Woodbridge, Ont., at the Ontario Soccer Centre. Upon applying, coaches will be provided with further details regarding location, times and other information.

Details announced for upcoming B-License Part 1 Course

Ontario Soccer has announced the date and location of an upcoming B-License Part 1 course.

The Ontario Soccer Centre will play host to the course from April 1-5, 2019.

Applications are now open and the deadline to register is March 5.

Ontario Soccer Summit adds exciting panel discussions to 2019 event

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce the addition of two panel discussions at the Ontario Soccer Summit 2019.

The Ontario Soccer Summit, presented by Respect in Sport, which attracts speakers from across the soccer spectrum, will offer their depth of experience for these two engaging panels, which will be held at Wolf Performance Hall in London from March 1-3, 2019.

The first panel, titled Soccer Now, will feature voices from the local, provincial, national and continental perspectives. The second panel, titled Keeping Girls in Sport, will have an important discussion with leaders from across sport.

Ontario Soccer releases 2019-2021 Strategic Plan

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce its, Board of Directors approved, new Strategic Plan for 2019-2021, which will serve as a road map for soccer in the province over the next three years.

The Strategic Plan will focus on four key areas of the sport and within those areas, each have three Strategic Initiatives where Ontario Soccer will look at tackling opportunities on and off the field.
