Kentucky Youth Soccer and Ohio South Youth Soccer at FC Cincinnati!

Technical Directors from several Kentucky Youth Soccer Association and Ohio South Youth Soccer Association member clubs had the opportunity to observe and breakdown a FC Cincinnati match with Luke Sassano, FC Cincinnati Technical Director. Over 20 coaches were in attendance to see the newly crowned USL Eastern Conference champions beat FC Toronto II by a score of 4-3 at Nippert Stadium.
Prior to the game Luke discussed the future plans of club as they transition to the MLS for 2019. Not only did he discuss how the short term goal is to establish a first team squad that can compete in the major leagues but how the long term goal is to build the infrastructure for and implement a youth program to grow local support. Before taking their seats to observe the game, the coaches were invited to review it and be open in providing analytical feedback back after the 90 minutes were complete. After 30 minutes of breaking down the game. Justin Bowen, Director of Coaching for Independence Soccer Club said “the experience of seeing a small glimpse of a professional club was outstanding but I wish we had more time to break down the game to the finer detail. Luke’s approach and willingness to be open is greatly appreciated.” Kentucky Youth Soccer hopes to build on these events with the aim to build a stronger relationship with FC Cincinnati as well as strengthen the bond with other professional organizations in Kentucky and neighboring states.
