Member Management Registration Deadline is fast approaching

Ontario Soccer would like to remind Clubs and Academies that the deadline to provision your organization on the new SportsEngine Member Management System (MMRS) is fast approaching.

The deadline to provision your organization’s information with SportsEngine’s MMRS is Oct. 1, 2018.

Organizations that have not provisioned before Oct. 1, 2018 will be required to take additional steps to ensure their information is included in MMRS.

Directors announced for Special Call for Nominations

The nominations for South and East Regional Directors recently closed, concluding the nominations process for potential candidates to serve on the Board of Directors of Ontario Soccer.

As a reminder, the elections will be held at the Ontario Soccer AGM, scheduled to take place at the Jewel Event Centre (55 Sovereign CT, Woodbridge, ON) on October. 14, 2018 at 9 a.m.

Ontario Soccer Summit 2019 ticket pricing has been released

Ontario Soccer is pleased to announce ticket pricing for the Ontario Soccer Summit 2019, in partnership with Respect in Sport.

Tickets will go on sale Nov. 1, 2018 and the full roster of 2019 speakers will be revealed at that time, but to assist Clubs, Academies, Districts and Leagues in their planning, the options for purchasing passes to Ontario Soccer Summit 2019 have been released publicly.

Playoff zone finalized in the last matches of the League1 Ontario season

It came down to the wire in the 2018 League1 men’s division, with the top and the bottom of the eight-team playoff zone being decided at the final two matches of the season.

FC London has taken first place, while Alliance, Unionville and Darby FC squeezed in at the base of the eight-team playoff zone.

Grassroots Practices You Can Use – Learn to Train

The Player Development department puts together practices for coaches to use with their players across the province.

Each week focuses on one of the three LTPD development stages at the Grassroots level, which includes Active Start, Fundamentals and Learn to Train.

In this week’s session, the Player Development department has focused on Learn to Train stage.

PISL accepting applications for 2018-2019 indoor season

The Provincial Indoor Soccer League is currently accepting team applications for its 2018-2019 season.

The league is open to Ontario Soccer club teams and OASL academies for U14-U18 boys and girls teams.

2018-2019 Female Mentorship applications now open

Ontario Soccer is committed to supporting and developing female coaches in Ontario, through creating a professional and successful mentorship program that will respond to the needs and aspirations of the many outstanding female soccer coaches practicing in Ontario, both now and in the years ahead.

The Female Mentorship Program is part of a holistic support system approach and is one more component on Ontario Soccer’s commitment to Long-Term Player Development (LTPD), under the guidance of Canada Soccer.

Ontario Soccer is continuously looking for experienced and passionate technical leaders with progressive approaches who can help shape the new Player and Coach Development pathway and is now asking for applications for Learning Facilitators (LFs) for 2018-2019.

Ontario Soccer’s LF holds a tremendously important role in implementing the delivery of the current Long Term Player Development (LTPD) pathway.

7 teams win Ontario Cup titles, 6 teams punch their ticket to Toyota National Championships

Over 20,000 soccer leaders now certified in Activity Leader program

Ontario Soccer is continuing to show that the safety of their athletes and participants are a priority to the community.

This week, Respect in Sport revealed that Ontario Soccer has surpassed 20,000 certifications in the Respect in Sport Activity Leader program.

This is in addition to the 10,000 parents who have already been certified in the Respect in Sport Parent Program.
