Ontario Soccer has announced the 2018 class of Centre Circle Award winners.

Ontario Soccer membership votes in favour of By-law amendments

Ontario Soccer held a Special General Meeting of the Members on Saturday, May 26 to vote on proposed new By-law changes for a new, modernized Ontario Soccer governance structure.

The Membership voted in favour of these By-law amendments.

Elections of a new Ontario Soccer Board will take place Oct. 13, 2018. More information will be made available following Ontario Soccer’s Annual General Meeting on June 10, 2018.

Notice has been given that the Annual Meeting of the Members will be held Sunday, June 10, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Toronto – International Airport (Trillium Ballroom) – 970 Dixon Rd. Toronto, ON.

All active members (District Associations) and Associate Members are expected to attend. Please RSVP no later than June 1.

11 Ontario players included in Canada roster for June 10 game against Germany

Canada Soccer has selected the 20 Women’s National Team Players who will represent the maple leaf against Germany June 10, in Hamilton.

The two-time Olympic bronze medalists will welcome Germany, the reigning Olympic Champions to Tim Hortons Field for the Sunday afternoon match, which will feature 11 players who hail from Ontario.

Reminder – Phase 2 of Game Fee and Assigning Protocol

The Ontario Soccer Match Officials Development Department and Match Officials Development Committee (MODC) would like to remind the membership that Phase 2 of the Game Fee and Assigning Protocol will occur in 2019.

MODC has been addressing Game Fees since 2015 an as a result created the Game Fee and Assigning Protocol which is being released in three phases. This protocol sets minimums and maximums for game fees based on the level of competition.

Canada Soccer selects 11 Ontario players for youth tournament

Canada Soccer has brought together a promising group of 20 young players for the upcoming Festival International Espoirs Provence from May 26 to June 9 in France.

The squad, which has 11 Ontario players in the roster, will face a series of tough opponents as the players continue their international development towards contributing to the future success of Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team.

Pro soccer is coming to York Region

Professional soccer arrived in York Region with Canadian Premier League’s unveiling of York 9 FC as one of its founding clubs.

It was a special day for supporters, local players, founders and the soccer community.

York 9 will play its 2019 season at York University but plans are underway to build a 12,000 to 15,000 seat stadium within three years.

Ontario Soccer believes that the intention of any accessible and inclusive soccer program should focus on providing an opportunity for players in their own community to discover soccer, develop skills and build friendships as part of a team.

This guide will assist clubs, academies and districts with generating awareness about Accessible Soccer as well assist with understanding the Accessibility for Ontarians with the Disabilities Act.

The Ontario Cup draw is complete. Find your team’s path to the final

The draw for the 2018 Ontario Cup has been completed and teams can now find their draw in the competition.

The Ontario Cup and the Soccer For Life Provincial Soccer Championship is the largest club competition of its kind in Canada.

One of the oldest sports events in the country, the Ontario Cup was first staged in 1901.

WATCH – Sheldon Kennedy’s discussion on abuse in sport

After a riveting special screening of Swift Current, presented by Respect in Sport, Sheldon Kennedy joined the audience at the Ontario Soccer Summit 2018 for an intimate question and answer session about the abuse he suffered as a youth athlete and how we can prevent it from happening in soccer.

A former NHL player, Kennedy has been instrumental in bringing governments, public and private sector partners together to influence policy change and improve the way child abuse is handled.
