Erm. I predict that the club located in Roma will get through the next round?
il capitano
well, usually when people talk about the club in Roma, they mean the true Roman team so that's ok icon_mrgreen.gif

Totti is suspended for this tie as he's serving a 4 match ban because of the Balotelli incident.
JuveJay
It's sad how the suspensions can spread over 2-3 seasons potentially laugh.gif

Roma 0-0 Lazio HT

I can't believe the starting lineup that Ranieri has put out there. What an idiot honestly.

J.S., N. Burdisso, Mexes, Juan, Riise, De Rossi, Brighi, Greco, Simplicio, Adriano, Borriello

We've never started with 4 pure midfielders before and now we do against nazio of all people. They're ripping us apart from every angle on the pitch. We haven't played one single feet to feet pass in nazio's half in this entire 45 minutes. Long after long balls directed to absolutely no one.

No creativity. Where's Menez, why is he on the bench. Why is Adriano starting, why keep Vucinic on the bench.

no idea what we're doing out there, pure shit.

Roma 2-1 Lazio clap.gif clap.gif

This is the boys' win, not Ranieri's.

Menez and Mirko introduced in the second half brought us the win. De Rossi was immense in the second half, like his old self, God I missed seeing him the monster that he was.

Simplicio's goal was so sweet, the cutest of touches, very nice goal.

Next up is Juve icon_mrgreen.gif BRING IT ON.

Lazio Coach Edy Reja: Juan Should Have Been Sent Off

Lazio coach Edy Reja was also critical of forward Mauro Zarate...

by David Schiavone
Jan 19, 2011 10:50:00 PM

Lazio coach Edy Reja was disappointed with the 2-1 loss to Roma in the Coppa Italia and feels the Giallorossi always get all the luck when the two sides face off.

"Good luck always runs on the side of Roma, we deserved more, but I found the brightness of my Lazio," Reja told Rai Sport after the game.

"Roma always have episodes in their favour, we do not. In terms of discipline, Juan was the last man [as he brought down Zarate for Lazio's penalty] and should have been expelled. But things always go in one direction."

On talisman Mauro Zarate, he said, "Zarate has all the skills but if he must learn to play for the team. Otherwise I will have to intervene."

hahaha.gif That Edy is fucking hilarious all the times, isn't he. Everytime we whoop their asses, it's because we're lucky. Heaven forbid that they probably don't have an end product and always choke against us laugh.gif

Also, he probably did forget to mention that Radu should also have been sent off because he took Burdisso's head off with a Spartan kick.

Roma Coach Claudio Ranieri: We Were Better Than Lazio In The Second Half

Ranieri doesn't feel Juan should have been sent off...

By David Schiavone

After the 2-1 victory over Lazio in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday, Roma coach Claudio Ranieri admitted that although his side were second best in the opening period, they improved after the break to seal the win.

"We played much better in the second half, Lazio had the first," Ranieri explained to Rai Sport.

"Should Juan have been expelled from the match? No. [Edy] Reja is only angry because he went out.

"We suffered the injury to Adriano at the beginning of the game but I waited for the interval and then I decided to remove him.

"Now we go to the quarter-finals in Juve's home ground, but I do not understand why the new regulations say so, because last year they played us at home."

he's going nowhere i don't care. If he goes Roma are toast. Actually if any of Menez, Borriello or Vucinic goes, Roma will have trouble finishing 7th.

After these three, there is Mexes. I hope to God that he SIGNS, pleaseeeeee Phillou signnnnnnnnn

someone will always step up. Sometimes the best thing for a team is old talent leaving. The absence of ego lets fresh blood flow.

no one on Roma is integral. Everyone is expendable.

Reja hits out at referee
Lazio boss Edy Reja has blamed the referee for last night's defeat to Roma in the Coppa Italia.

The Aquile went down 2-1 and Reja has yet to beat Roma in his career.

“Now you can't say that we have a Roma complex,” he raged.

“When we face Roma there is always an episode in their favour while it never happens to us.

“I don't understand why Mauro Zarate was blown for offside at the end. The ball came to him after a back pass from a Roma player.

“And again: on the penalty in our favour, Juan was the last man and should have been sent off. I don't understand why he stayed on the pitch.

“It's incredible. Things always go the same way. But it's useless to protest,” he concluded.

Last night’s 2-1 Coppa Italia victory over local rivals Lazio was a heated affair and De Rossi risked a red card with persistent fouling.

He also waved four fingers at the crowd after the final whistle, signifying the number of consecutive derby meetings won by the Giallorossi.

“It’s normal, there is more satisfaction in beating Lazio in a knockout round,” said the midfielder.

“We beat them and knocked them right out of the Coppa Italia. I wouldn’t say we have an inferiority complex with regards to Lazio, as they are a good side, but once again we emerged with the victory.

“It is always fantastic to win the derby, as every derby win is like the first time, even if I must say that with each one that passes I feel more and more relaxed.

“Before I felt too tense and was even terrorised at times, but I think I’ve managed to calm myself down now.”
